Expert Answers about Volkswagen RV Air Conditioners

  • Is The Advent ACCAR135 a Heat Pump Or Will it Require a Heat Strip?
  • The Advent Air Replacement RV Air Conditioner # ACCAR135 along with all the other air conditioners we currently have do not have a heat pump. We do offer the Heat Strip # ACMHD which fits the Advent Air Conditioner. Since the Carrier AC's are virtually obsolete on campers you might want to consider switching to the Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System # FR67FJ which will give you 2 AC and a central thermostat. We also have the Heat Strip # FR27PR you can add to one or both units...

  • Roof Top Mounted Air Conditioner For a 1985 VW Vanagon
  • There are no specific air conditioners we fitguide for 1985 Volkswagen Vanagon as it will come down to if your rooftop is structurally capable of supporting an air conditioner. A unit like the Furrion # FR52PR weighs 76lbs and unless the roof was braced to hold something with that amount of weight. This is something you will want to consult with a manufacturer who does RV conversions on vans to get their input if you do not already know your van roof can support the weight of this while...

  • Recommended Replacement AC Unit for a 1971 Winnebago Brave
  • Nick, unfortunately all of our AC units with a heat pump like # AT15033 are only compatible with ducted systems. So with that said, you're going to be out of luck. But, we can still get you a new AC with a soft start. I recommend checking out the Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner System w/ Start Capacitor # ASA58YR. This AC will work with your ductless system, fit right in the 14" opening you have, and includes a start capacitor which jumpstarts your AC when a campsite or generator...

  • Recommended Replacement Rooftop AC Unit For An Airxcel Model # 8534C8797
  • The 8534C8797 is showing as a 15,000BTU unit so the 48008-969 (13,500BTU) would technically connect and work, but wouldn't be as efficient at cooling the trailer. The Furrion Chill HE Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Coleman Setup - 15,000 Btu # FR42PV you were looking at would however be a compatible fit since it comes with an adapter to connect to your system's 9-pin plug. This unit, as well as the others that we currently offer, does not have a heat pump so you would be losing this...

  • Troubleshooting Coleman Mach AC Controller Shutting Off Advent Air Conditioner After Update
  • This sounds like an issue with the Coleman thermostat/controller. I would recommend changing to the Advent which we have either a Manual Air Distribution Box # ACDB or Thermostat Air Distribution Box # ACRG15.

  • Can I Use The Dometic Wall Thermostat DMC79FR With A Coleman AC System?
  • Hey Roy thanks for your question. Unfortunately, the Dometic Wall Thermostat # DMC79FR is not going to be compatible with your Coleman AC system. The only way to use the Dometic thermostat would be switch out the entire Coleman AC system for a Dometic System. It may be worth checking with Coleman to see if they offer a digital thermostat. We do not carry the Coleman air conditioners here at etrailer so I am afraid we do not have a compatible digital thermostat to offer you.

  • Can Air Lift Compressor Kit Handle 10 PSI
  • Hey William, so the Air Lift Air Shock Controller Compressor System for Air Shock Absorbers # AL25804 that you referenced is rated for up to 160 psi so it would easily handle 100 psi. For a union tee fitting you'd then want the part # F3025-1. If you have an Air Lift air bag the correct replacement elbow fitting is the part # AL52RV.

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow 2011 Jeep Liberty
  • Hi Lenny; I would be happy to help you put this together. Since you entered 2011 in our fitguide and the Jeep Liberty wasn't made until 2002 I'll base the answer off of a 2011. If that is incorrect please let me know and I can update the answer as needed. To flat tow your Liberty you will need a tow bar, base plate, safety cables, wiring, and a supplemental braking system. I recommend the following: -Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # BX1976 -Blue Ox Avail Non-Binding Tow Bar #...

  • Potential Steering Stabilizer Option For A 2004 National RV On A Freightliner XC Chassis
  • Hey Scott, so our records show that sometime in 2003, Freightliner made design changes to their suspension which affected fitment of pretty much all of the Roadmaster sway bars and steering stabilizers. In our conversations with Roadmaster, the only potential option for a 2004 Freightliner is the # RM-RBK14-RSSA. There are a few requirements for fitment though. The RV must have air suspension, it must have a solid front axle, and it must not be equipped with a 150-gallon fuel tank. If your...

  • Recommended Replacement Roof Vent Lid For A 2017 Lark Enclosed Trailer
  • Hey Thomas, If your roof vent is 14" x 14" then you could go with the MaxxAir UniMaxx Universal Replacement Lid for RV and Trailer Roof Vent # MA00-335001. This replacement is a universal-fit for Elixir, Ventline, Jensen, Hengs, and other roof vents so you won't have to worry about compatibility.

  • Recommended Roof Vent For An Enclosed Trailer With A 1/4" Thick Roof
  • Hey Jesse, The square vents we offer all require a 14" x 14" opening in order to be installed. You can always add in some wood to increase the thickness of the roof but the hole size is going to be something that has to be right. With it being an enclosed trailer you can easily cut the roof to make the correct size hole. The lift arms on vents like the # V2110SP-24 you were looking at are weak and break often so I recommend going with the MaxxFan Mini Plus Manual RV Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan...

  • Can A Furrion Condenser Unit Replace A Coleman Condenser Unit Without Air Distribution Box Access
  • Rooftop condenser units, like the Furrion # FR58PR, you referenced just have a wire harness with either a 6-pin or 9-pin connector that hangs down from the bottom of the unit and plugs into the control box. With yours not having an air distribution box or access from below could mean that they cut the connector off and ran extra wiring over to wherever the control box was mounted. With you having a heat pump you should have a 9-pin connector (if it hasn't been cutoff). If you do still have...
